Fred Seunghyun Maeng

Welcome.

I am an Assistant Professor of Economics at Nanyang Technological University in Singapore. Previously, I was a Max Weber Postdoctoral Researcher at the European University Institute. I received my Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Cambridge in October 2024. 

My research interests are macroeconomics, international macro & finance, and monetary economics. My work studies fiscal-monetary interactions in emerging economies, with a particular focus on sovereign default.
